Our team: employees - students - parents
In times like these, when the German school system is stuck in a crisis, when both, teachers and students, are complaining about stress and frustration, and while the effectiveness of the educational system in comparison to international standards is being criticized, the Free Evangelical Schools Berlin want to set a signal for an education based on the realities of life with its value-oriented pedagogical approach.
We want the education to be a joint endeavor that takes place at home as well as at school; to us, we are all on the same team: children, employees and parents.
The children take center stage
Human life is unique and special: a gift from God. We show all children in our schools respect regardless of their accomplishments and skills, and we constantly work on strengthening their self-confidence. In our schools, the students are not simply being “managed”; we take special care to promote them individually. We want our school education to be a path towards a rightly understood self-acceptance. Each student has the chance to discover and develop his intellectual, emotional and practical skills, as well as to confidently accept his limitations.
Next to the traditional academic education we also emphasize character building, the training of independence and teaching social norms, rules and behavior. We ensure this through small classes, a friendly atmosphere and a broad variety of extracurricular activities.
Committed staff
Our teachers hold state recognized teaching degrees (1. and 2. Staatsexamen). Like all other staff members they do their job at the FESB in accordance with their Christian convictions. It is our desire that during their school years, our students will embrace and experience the Christian faith as something to base their life upon. All staff members, whether they are teachers, technicians or working in the administration, have an important function as role models in this process.
Parents are welcome
Education has to be a joint endeavor shared by parents and the school. We support and encourage students, parents and teachers to communicate, work and have fun together. For this reason we organize many school functions and joint activities. We warmly encourage all dads, moms and grandparents to become active members of our school community together with our teachers, for example by organizing a class trip or by helping to prepare and coordinate our school’s summer party. Our annual barbecue is a great opportunity for our “old” and “new” parents to get to know each other.
