Energetic renovation - new windows

New windows in the context of our energetic renovation

March 2, 2009 | The renovation enters the next round. After renovating the roof and installing the photovoltaic system as a part of the energetic renovation, we were able to start replacing our windows on January 26, 2009. The windows of the auditorium measuring approximately 12,5 x 3,5 feet were the kick-off for the renovation of the windows. In the meantime this work is completed and also the windows of the stairways and of the rotunda in the entrance area have been replaced. In three to four weeks the windows in all the halls will be replaced and the renovation of the windows will be completed.

The expert opinion evaluation of the windows determined how the old, partially original windows can be repaired or renewed. Also this structural measure is supervised by monument protection representatives, whom we consulted before taking any steps.

The old windows, some of them of the antique old age of 110 years, have been replaced by replications through the company Crottendorfer Tischlerhandwerk GmbH. Details of the windows: made out of larch, wedge joint, threefold laminated, thermal protection, dual pane casement windows of noise control class 2 (Ug=1,1 W/m²K BAZ).

In total 108 windows will be replaced and 525 feet of 0,86 inch thick multiplex wooden window ledge will be installed.

The total costs for the renovation of the windows amount to 226.100,- €.
